Healthy Chik Fil-A Sauce

Ingredients: 

  • ⅓ cup of soaked cashews 

  • 2 tbsp bbq sauce

  • 3 cloves of garlic

  • 1 tsp yellow mustard

  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard

  • 1.5 tbsp maple syrup or agave

  • 1 tsp salt 

  • Crack of black pepper

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch 

  • ¼ cup water 

  • optional: you can add a tbsp of vegan mayonnaise if you want it to be extra creamy

Directions: 

  1. Two options: You can soak your cashews by pouring enough water to submerge them and leave it overnight OR you can pour boiling water, submerging the cashews and covering it to let it soak for 30 minutes. 

  2. When the cashews are soaked, add them to a blender with the rest of your ingredients except the cornstarch. 

  3. Mix the cornstarch with water until dissolved and then add to the blender. Blend at the highest speed possible until you see it thicken. If you have a less powerful blender then the vitamix, you can also just heat up a small pot on low to medium and pour the blended sauce ingredients in then stir in the cornstarch slurry until it thickens.
